Inequality and public education expenditure are negatively related across countries. Bias in voter turnout towards elderly and educated varies a lot across countries. Voter turnout can explain differences in intergenerational mobility and inequality. Compulsory voting could foster intergenerational mobility. Inequality and intergenerational mobility do not seem to be causally related.
