Impacts of land use change on ecosystem services are complicated by spatial dynamics. Here we describe one type of spatial dynamic: multi-site interactions (MSI). A review of literature on nature-based recreation suggests evidence of MSI is lacking. We propose a MSI conceptual framework and apply it to 3 ecosystem services.
