Trichinella pseudospiralis is rarely detected in wild and domestic animals. T. pseudospiralis has been isolated from 18 mammalian and 8 avian species. In Europe, T. pseudospiralis has been identified only in 1.6% of infected animals. T. pseudospiralis uses a host range wider than that of encapsulated species.
