Engagement within occupational trainees: Individual difference predictors and commitment outcome

Motivation and self-efficacy both individually and collectively predict engagement among occupational trainees. Motivation evidences a direct effect on occupational commitment among occupational trainees. Engagement in one's occupational training predicts occupational commitment. Engagement mediates the self-efficacy–commitment relation, and partially mediates the motivation–commitment relation. Need for achievement moderates the relation between motivation and engagement among occupational trainees.
