The multiphase CIS was synthesized by economical pulsed electrodeposition method. Prepared CIS was employed to degrade textile effluent by visible light irradiation. Effective degradation is due to heterojunction of two phases with different bandgap. CIS having bandgap edges at right place delays the electron-hole recombination. A photocatalytic degradation mechanism is proposed with graphical representation.
