Does adoption of electronic health records improve organizational performances of hospital surgical units? Results from the French e-SI (PREPS-SIPS) study
This study provides empirical proof of EHR benefits on organizational performances. Hospitals that adopted EHRs have better material resource utilization in surgical units. EHR adoption has no impact on surgeon or anesthetist productivity. The use of econometrics provides precise quantitative data on the impact of EHR adoption.
