High content methanol was used for better separation of easily adsorbed dyes in MCE.

Polyacrylic acid was used to ensure the separation efficiency and repeatability.

Two rhodamine dyes were well-resolved with a BGE containing 80% methanol.

Theoretical plate number of 7.0 × 105 was achieved.

Food samples and cosmetic products were analyzed with simple pre-treatment.
