Pectic polysaccharides and binding glycans were isolated from P. abies. Annual dynamics of content and composition of the biopolymers were studied. Greenery of P. abies contain mainly lowly methyl-esterified pectin. The optimal period for harvesting greenery for pectin isolation is autumn-winter. Spruce and fir polysaccharides differ in content, composition, and accumulation.
