We investigate the static and dynamic energy efficiency in China’s coastal areas. Both environmental pollutants and greenhouse gas are considered. Global benchmark technology is incorporated into the related DEA models. China’s coastal areas have great potential of air emissions reduction. Technological progress is main driven factor to improve energy efficiency.
