The effect of several inlet geometries on compressor performance is investigated.

A tapered duct improves surge margin, isentropic efficiency and pressure ratio.

A C-D nozzle improves surge margin, isentropic efficiency and noise emissions.

A conv. nozzle greatly improves surge margin and noise emissions, but chokes early.
