Optimum germination temperature differed between the two species. Seeds germinated up to 250 mM NaCl, decreasing with increasing salinity. Seeds recovered totally their ability to germinate after salt exposure. Increasing temperature differently influenced seedling growth of the two species. Germination in the field of the two species occurs from autumn to spring.
