The ratio for evaluating seismic compression by two horizontal motions is proposed. The ratio is found to be within a range from 1.52 to 2.32, rather than a constant. The ratio increases with increasing earthquake magnitude & relative density of sand. The ratio decreases with the increase of epicentral distance.
