This work brings in a demonstration that an asymmetric broadening of the nanoscale transport distribution can theoretically result in an ultra-enhancement in the thermoelectric figure of merit zelTzelT. κelκel We then substantiate with realistic resonant structures designed using graphene nano-ribbons by employing a tight binding framework with edge correction. The calculated figure of merit exceeding 10 in such realistic structures further re-inforces the concept. This work sets a promising direction toward engineering the electronic thermal conductivity at the nanoscale.
