Stress distribution in the film under tensile loading of the substrate was studied. Insitu microscopy was adopted to identify the onset of cracks during tensile loading. Εvolution of tensile stress and cracking are mapped with respect to applied strain. Εxperimental data and modelling have been used to explain stress evolution behavior.
