Synthesis of cross linked PVA incorporating treated multi-wall carbon nanotubes membranes (TCN). Membrane characterizing using FT-IR, SEM, XRD, TGA, tensile strength, and DS (Swelling Degree). Using membranes to dehydrate reaction mixtures of methyl acetate by pervaporation. Offering acid conversion rates, fluxes by varying empirical conditions and silica content. Optimum acid conversion was found to be 99% by using 2 wt.% of TCN content.
