Pyrethroids are one of the most commonly used classes of insecticides.
This is a review of the (anti)estrogenic and (anti)androgenic activity of pyrethroids in in vitro screening tests.
They were essentially negative or weakly estrogenic in tests using recombinant yeast or mammalian cells.
Conflicting findings were reported across studies and/or assays evaluating their antiestrogenic or anti-androgenic potential.
