Aridity and ethnicity are important drivers of forage-related LEK and their relative importance depends on forage type. Local climatic variability poses a major threat to forage-related LEK accumulation among local agro-pastoralists. Gender-based LEK varies depending on ethnicity, aridity and type of forage resource. LEK of forage resources is unevenly distributed among local agro-pastoralists.
