A colorimetric method for the detection of glutathione was developed. Ag+ ion directly oxidized ABTS to produce a green solution. Glutathione hindered the oxidation process and faded the color of the solution. The method was selective and sensitive for glutathione determination. The content of glutathione in human plasma was determined.
