D2EHPA a magnetic adsorbent was used for the adsorption of Mo (IV).

The Qmax of Mo (IV) was achieved at 0.5 M HNO3 concentration.

NH3 used as desorption agent for desorbing Mo (IV) ions loaded on nanoparticles.

Increase in initial NH3 concentration decreases the desorption Kd values.

The maximum amount of Kd for adsorption was 3200 mL/g.
