To study the mass transfer characteristics of high temperature falling water film evaporation under countercurrent laminar airflow, previous studies on water film, advective mass transfer, blowing effects and wavy interface were carefully analyzed and were expressed together in a form. The experimental studies were then performed to obtain the high temperature falling film evaporation characteristics under countercurrent laminar airflow. Results indicate that the current evaporation mass transfer characteristic is dramatically larger than the laminar prediction by HMTA and that the falling water film with high wall evaporation effectively enhances the laminar convective mass transfer. By relating the data with the given expression, a modification correlation is finally specified and accordingly the fitting Power of air Reynolds number indicates that the Sherwood number with high temperature evaporation tends to the turbulent evaporation mass transfer.
