Resource quality has no effect on ESS virulence in the completely mixed host populations. Higher resources select for higher virulence as parasitic infection occurring completely local. High virulence is selected for both low and high resource qualities at mixed local and global infection. Heterogeneous resource distribution affects virulence evolution only in castrators.
