Ion exchange resin reached >99% V removal at pH 11.5 within 10 min contact time. The rate of V sorption can be predicted by a first order rate equation. The isotherm data cannot differentiate between the Langmuir and Freundlich models. After ∼7000 bed volumes (90 L) through 13 mL resin, the breakthrough was only 14%. Ion exchange resin was reused 20 times without loss of efficacy for V removal.
