Pedal location affects maximal voluntary exertion force (MVE) and acceptable force. Clearance behind the pedal also significantly affects MVE and acceptable force. Preferred and acceptable push handle height are approximately at elbow level. The suggested range of adjustability for push handle height is from 91.3 to 114.0 cm. Method of limits is an appropriate approach for detecting threshold of acceptability.
