A novel experimental test facility enables generation of an archetypal microchannel slug flow. High-speed imaging provides qualitative flow visualization of the two-phase flow characteristics. Image analysis enables quantification of the vapor bubble and liquid slug generation uniformity. The growth of vapor bubbles is shown for a range of uniform microchannel wall heat Fluxes.
