Fabrication of ridge waveguides in lithium niobate activated with Nd3+ ions by combining metallic diffusion and fs-laser writing techniques. Continuous wave laser emission in ridge waveguides was obtained at 1085 nm wavelength. Feasibility of the fs-laser structuring technique for the development of integrated waveguide lasers in this LiNbO3.
