The SWEC, Stellenbosch Wave Energy Converter is an unique WEC that has not been studied extensively in the past.

It is one of a few submerged OWCs with some very attractive attributes for actual deployment.

This is, to our knowledge, the first paper where a detailed model has been derived and use to simulate the actual performance of a submerged OWC and then compared with tests in a wave flume with a fair amount of accuracy.

The experimental results of a submerged OWC have also not been published before.

Test results for other orientations are also shown.
