An engineered Renilla luciferase, C-SRLuc 8 namely, was obtained by insertion of a disulfide bridge into protein structure. C-SRLuc 8 showed a significant increase in thermostability at 65°C. The relationship between the protein structure, activity and thermostability was studied in C-SRLuc 8 using MD simulations.
