Removal of Cr(VI) using polyacrylonitrile/ferrous chloride composite nanofibers

The PAN/FeCl2 composite nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning method. Cr(VI) is removed by reaction with Fe(II) on the composite nanofibers, with a complex redox effect. The adsorption mechanism was discussed in detail. The design and effect of coexisting ions and metal ions were studied. Extensive models of the experimental data were tested to evaluate the Cr(VI) removal mechanisms.
