Mercury in the marine fish farms along the southern coast of China generally come from coal combustion and industrial inputs. Different types of fish feeds provided the major sources of mercury to the farmed fish. Total mercury concentrations of farmed fish are lower than the human health screening value. Human exposures through consumption of predatory fish exceeded the USEPA's reference dose.
