A scale for evaluating gains associated with caregiving (GAC) is developed. Despite including items related to theoretically distinct gains, GAC seems to be basically unidimensional. GAC is statistically related to measures of of burden feelings, depression and satisfaction with life. The GAC scale shows a high internal consistency and adequate concurrent and construct validity.
