Laser-induced backward transfer was investigated by time-resolved shadowgraphy. Flyer velocity was a function of carrier, donor thickness, delay and fluence. We investigated the fluence window for intact transfer and the role of the receiver. Donor-crater profile variation was studied for different ejection regimes. Conditions for intact and fragmented flyers were determined.
