Immobilized yeast cells were investigated by scanning electrochemical microscopy. A two redox mediators based system was used for charge transfer from yeast cells. One mediator was lipophilic (hydrophobic) another one was soluble (hydrophylic). 9,10-phenanthrenequinone was used as a lipophilic redox mediator. Ferricyanide acted as a hydrophylic electron acceptor.
