Zinc ferrocyanide was developed and used as a novel inhibiting and sensing pigment in the coating. Zinc ferrocyanide has a storage capacity of 200 meq/100 g, and releases inhibitors at a high rate. The crystal structure change makes the pigmented coating to be a sensing coating.
