MSC eco-label is a well-known market-based management approach to solve overfishing. MSC has been applied in many fisheries but may not be fully workable in others. Sergestid shrimp fishery of Taiwan has been managed well and is pre-assessed here. The fishery not likely to pass MSC standard; even passed, MSC might not be workable. High cost and unattractive benefits make MSC not workable for the fishery.
