1:1 cocrystal of genistein with 4,4′-bipyridine was prepared via solution evaporation. Stoichiometric ratio was inferred by analysing the number of intermolecular hydrogen bonds. Genistein–4,4′-bipyridine 1:1 cocrystal shows improved solubility as related to parent flavonoid. Cocrystal shows advantages in terms of antibacterial properties in comparison to pure genistein.
