Three straight-bladed VAWTs with identical solidity were designed using the AC method.

Effect of blade number on the dynamics of floating VAWTs was studied in a fully coupled aero-hydro-servo-elastic approach.

The variations in aerodynamic loads and structural responses are strongly dependent on the blade number.

The variations in generator power production, platform motions and mooring line tensions are not.
