GLAS data are used in a 3-phase sample design to estimate US & Mexico forest biomass. US GLAS estimate (23.95 ± 0.45 Gt) within 1% of US Forest Service ground estimate. In US, state total biomass estimates within, on average, 19% of USFS ground estimates. Mexico GLAS estimates vs other studies: FAO-4.15 Gt, GLAS-3.65 ± 0.06 Gt, radar-3.06 Gt
