Effect of ultrafine water mist on gas explosion in closed visual vessel was studied. “Tulip” flame formation resulted from the vortex motion and affected by fog amount. Appearance of flame cellular structure was related to absorbing heat of water vapor. Pressure underwent two accelerating rises and was affected by mist concentration. Methane explosion flame can be inhibited absolutely with the mist amount increased.
