Italian retail poultry meats are frequently contaminated by Campylobacter spp. High Campylobacter numbers were mostly present on poultry offal. Decreasing Campylobacter rates are detectable along the marketing chain. Meat typology is the main factor influencing the Campylobacter contamination.
