Si reduced postprandial hyperglycaemia in healthy Wistar rats. The hypoglycaemic effects were linked to reduction of SGLT1 levels. Si blocked (arrested) postprandial hypertriglyceridemia from first administration. Si supplementation seems useful to manage the postprandial state.
