Excessive slurry applications during the winter create a very high risk of N leaching. Center pivot used a 30% of the furrow irrigation volume during maize cultivation. Pig slurry application with centre pivot generated N leaching around 10 kg N ha−1. DAISY is applicable for predicting N leaching under Mediterranean conditions.
