An amorphous YBaCuO planar infrared detector was designed, fabricated and tested.
UPS confirmed the possible Schottky nature of the amorphous YBaCuO–metal contacts.
The device exhibited a high-pass pyroelectric fast response extending up to the MHz.
The response was explained by an analytical model, without adjustable parameters.
The IR detectivity, close to the theoretical limit, showed the device competitiveness.
