H2O2/UV is firstly used to solve yellowing problem on CA-crosslinked cotton fabrics. HO can be generated from exposing H2O2 on cellulose under longer wavelength UV. H2O2/UVB shows proper whitening result without causing mechanical damages on cotton fabrics. Whitening mechanisms consist of HO oxidation, H2O2 oxidation and UV irradiation. H2O2/UVB bleaching of cellulose fabrics is environmentally friendly.
