2D ternary FeNiS2 ultrathin nanosheet is synthesized using a facile colloidal method.

It exhibits excellent electrocatalytic activity and stability for both OER and ORR.

Its OER and ORR capacities are superior over binary FeS nanosheet and Ni9S8 nanorod.
