Explaining rice yields and yield gaps in Central Luzon, Philippines: An application of stochastic frontier analysis and crop modelling

The yield gap was decomposed into efficiency, resource and technology yield gaps. Rice yield gap in Central Luzon was 3.8 and 4.8 ton ha−1 in the wet and dry season. Technology yield gap explained half of the yield gap in both seasons. Efficiency and resource yield gap each explain a quarter of the yield gap in dry season. Resource yield gap was larger than efficiency yield gap in the wet season.
