Numerical investigation of combusting, supersonic-subsonic and multi-phase flow in the dual-stage HVOF thermal spray gun. Decoupling particle phase from gas phase leads to remarkable errors in particle situation. Nozzle geometries have potential to exercise control over particle temperature while preserving particle velocity. Turbulent mixing is an important underling factor which determines particle temperature and oxygen content.
