Gd2(MoO4)3:Er3+/Yb3+/Au thin films were prepared using the electrostatic layer-by-layer (LBL) technique and spin-coating method. A significant luminescence enhancement is obtained after modified with Au islands. The max intensity-based temperature sensitivity reaches 0.024 K−1 at 517 K after modified with Au islands.
