Actively-forming Alhama-Jaraba carbonate solids were studied for the first time. Depositional environment determines solid facies, textures and structures. Relationship between the mineralogy and the formation temperature exists. Non-equilibrium calcite-water δ18O fractionation if evaporation occurs. Formation environment importance to deduce palaeotemperatures from isotopic data.
