We investigated the effects of dry and cryogenic cooling strategies when turning an EBM Ti6Al4V. A comparison with standard flood cooling has been carried out. Dry and cryogenic machining were intended as sustainable cooling strategies. We evaluated the cooling effects on tool wear, surface quality and on chip morphology. Cryogenic machining gave better results and fulfils potential applications in the biomedical field.
