Axial variation of opening angle resembled curvature and residual stretch variation. The more residually stressed aortic quadrants were also the thicker ones. Aging reduced curvature but raised other parameters with earlier differences distally. Notable caliber differences in old subjects. Notable opening angle/residual stretch/thickness differences in middle-aged subjects.
